Should you decide to apply for voluntary certification, you can choose between the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT).

These organizations will require that you are clear from any felony, drug-related or pharmacy-related convictions in order to be eligible for the certification exam they administer.
